GTA 4 October Release Confirmed

Take Two Interactive, during a financial results conference call, revealed that GTA 4 will hit in October. The game will launch on the PS3 and Xbox 360 simultaneously and have episodic content available in 1008.

Take Two also announced that Rockstar will introduce in 2008 exclusive episodic content downloads for the game. It is worth mentioning that back at E3 2006, Microsoft announced a deal with Take Two's Rockstar to have exclusive episodic content for the Xbox 360 version of GTA IV.

One of the most controversial games of all time is not only getting a sequel, it is coming to the Nintendo Wii. Who said Nintendo was only for kids? Details of this rather shocking announcement after the jump.

Manhunt 2 has been announced for the PS2, PSP and…the Nintendo Wii. Rockstar's title was one of the most controversial releases in gaming history and many stores refused to stock it. It also sparked a huge media frenzy about a possible link with violent behaviour. Simply put, it caused the industry a lot of problems. In development by Rockstar London, this will be the first title from the new southern studio and will be worked on in conjunction with Rockstar North. The Wii version is being developed by Rockstar Toronto. The game will be available sometime this summer.


First GTA IV trailer coming March 29th

Rockstar Games has put up a small teaser site for Grand Theft Auto 4 which was yesterday confirmed for an October release. The site shows a large number "IV" along with a clock that will reach zero in 27 days. So, on March 29th, the first trailer ever of GTA IV will be brought to the public. Mark this day in your agenda, people! Let's just hope it isn't one of those 10-second 'coming soon' trailers, or Mr. Bigglesworth will be very upset...

Rockstar has just announced through a press release that they are indeed working on a Manhunt sequel and it is being developed not only for the PS2 and PSP, but also for the Nintendo Wii. Below are some details regarding the announcement. New York, NY - February 6, 2007 - Rockstar Games, the world-renowned publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTWO), is proud to announce Manhunt 2 for the PlayStation 2 system, PSP system, and Nintendo's Wii. Manhunt 2 is the debut title from the newly formed Rockstar London studio, which is developing the game in conjunction with series creator Rockstar North. The Wii version is being developed by Rockstar Toronto. Manhunt 2 will be available this summer. "With Manhunt 2 we have tried to create a game that stays close to the original concept of chilling suspense and stealth, whilst pushing the game design and storytelling forward," said Sam Houser, founder and executive producer of Rockstar Games.


NaturalMotion Signs Rockstar

NaturalMotion announced today a partnership with Rockstar Games. This agreement will see the publishing label integrate the company's euphoria engine into next-gen titles. The implementation of this 3D animation technology is apparently far along, following several months of close collaboration between the two companies.
