| Rockstar announces Manhunt 2 and its coming to Wii
The Wii version of the game will be developed by Rockstar Toronto and Rockstar say that With Manhunt 2 we have tried to create a game that stays close to the original concept of chilling suspense and stealth, whilst pushing the game design and storytelling forward, said Sam Houser, founder and executive producer of Rockstar Games. But dont get your hopes up just yet, Manhunt was banned in Australia after 11 Months of being on sale, due to our lack or R Rating for games so dont expect the game to show up here unless it has been significantly altered. This is also a good launching pad for a Nintendo/Rockstar relationship and hopefully we will see other Rockstar franchises making the jump to Wii. Source: Rockstar PR .
Come Get Your Game On
Not that I'm into shameless self-promotion, but man, oh, man... if you miss this year's GDC, please dump your case of Rockstar, toss out your PowerBars, and turn in your geek badge at the door. The 2007 installation of the Game Developer's Conference is upon us and this one looks to be one of the hotter ones in its long history. Now that the major game platforms are out (PS3, Wii, Xbox 360) and dual-core processors are readily available, developers have more options than ever to get their storylines straight, their mazes twisted, and their graphics smooth. What I'm looking forward to this year are the breakout sessions. That's where more conventioneers tell us that they have gotten the best information, learning from the pros. Good artists copy; great artists steal, said the jaggy-master Pablo Picasso.
The Select and Start News Report: 03.05.07
Konami creates a time paradox causing positive Sony news which makes me keep playing Guitar Hero II forcing the WSVG to end. Welcome to The Select and Start News Report, where shares went down another 75 points today. So unless down means up and 75 means 200, I'm screwed. Also, mark March 9th on your calenders everyone: That's when on Celebrity Deathmatch, it'll be Dave Chappelle vs. Carlos Mencia. It'll sort of ease the pain of Wrestling Society X about to be canceled and TNA screwing themselves. Big News METAL GEAR GOES OFFLINE, CREATING A TIME PARADOX [credit: 1UP, GameSpy] Enjoy your days of playing Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence online as much as you can, because Konami announced (in what some might describe as "earth-shattering") that the online support for the game will cease April 2nd.
Grand Theft Auto IV to Arrive on PS3, Xbox 360 in October
Financially strapped gamers limited to one console have made the decision in recent years to purchase a unit based on a single game. For some, Halo was reason enough to buy an Xbox. And for others, Grand Theft Auto, the Rockstar game infamous for its unprecedented level of violence, influenced the purchase of a Playstation. But beginning in October, Xbox loyalists will finally get to celebrate the beginning of their relationship with Grand Theft Auto, excellent news for Microsoft. The fourth release, untitled and announced without a trailer or jpegs, will feature planned episodic content to be released online in 2008. It signals a huge advantage for Microsoft in the ceaseless console wars. Xbox, with Halo, and Nintendo’s Wii, with the Legend of Zelda, will be the sole owners of "must-have" games unique to their systems, which is certain to negatively affect PS3 sales come Christmas. What does Sony have up its sleeve now that its bread-and-butter is an equal opportunity developer? The clock is ticking.
