Taste of Chaos leaves a sweet taste in mouths

"I was in the hospital today with tubes going down my throat and up my nose and everywhere else you can imagine," 30 Seconds to Mars front man Jared Leto told a packed crowd at the Rockstar Taste of Chaos last Thursday night. "The doctor said I would be crazy if I went on tonight and played for 10,000 crazy [fans] at the Long Beach Arena, but I told him this is home and you are family and you would take care of me no matter what."

The huge crowd did help take care of Leto, screaming every word of hits "From Yesterday," "The Kill" and "Attack" during the band's hour-long set. Leto even made his way through the crowd and played an intimate solo set from the soundboard in the middle of the floor.

Leto and company were just one of eight bands that played the annual tour.

Rockstar reveals October launch of Grand Theft Auto 4, episodic ...

In the past, Grand Theft Auto titles were always the sole domain of Sony. These are the games that were on the news, in the Playstation 2s of all your friends, and all over the walls of the game stores. Liberty City Stories also did a great job of getting people excited about the PSP when the system needed a boost. It's clear that Rockstar Games and Sony get along.

Of course, in the latest console war Microsoft has gained much market share—not to mention mind share. This time around Grand Theft Auto 4 is going to be released on both the PS3 and the 360 simultaneously. This is a big boost for Microsoft's system, and a major loss for Sony's hardware; Grand Theft Auto was quite the system seller.

In the latest conference call detailing the company's financial results we learned the release date for the game: October of this year.

Some gamers probably thought it would never happen. Then again, many thought that the Wii was going to be a complete failure. Take-Two developer Rockstar Games has announced they are currently developing Manhunt 2 for the PS2, PSP and wait for it......Nintendo Wii. Yes, hell has frozen over and pigs are now flying. The deadly and gruesome sequel to Manhunt is coming to the kid friendly, family-oriented Wii console, PS2 and PSP this summer. "With Manhunt 2 we have tried to create a game that stays close to the original concept of chilling suspense and stealth, whilst pushing the game design and storytelling forward," said Sam Houser, founder and executive producer of Rockstar Games. "We are also excited to have our newest development team, Rockstar London, working on the title alongside our two established UK studios, Rockstar North and Leeds." When Nintendo of America President, Reggie Fils-Aime said that Wii was going to cater more better to the adult-orientated gamer than the GameCube with more Mature rated titles, some hoped for the best, but most of us new what to expect.
